OVERVIEW
The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) invites NYIC nonprofit Member organizations to submit proposals for the NYIC's Afghan Support Regrant.
The NYIC's Afghan Support Regrant will support NYIC nonprofit Member organizations in supporting Afghan evacuees and their families with legal services, advocacy, and health and wellness direct services/referrals.
This will be a competitive RFP. The NYIC currently has enough funds to award the regrant to 4 organizations.

Funds
$20,000
Funds can be used for any expenses connected to the deliverables for this regrant including but not limited to staffing, application preparation fees (e.g., adjustment of status), materials, and overhead.
Regrant awards are paid out in two installments, one shortly after the regrant's MOU is executed and one after the regrantee's deliverables and reports have been completed and reviewed/approved.

The report can be submitted as soon as the deliverables are completed.The regrant can be closed out early for regrantees who complete their deliverables and reporting early.
CRITERIA:
This RFP is open to NYIC nonprofit Member organizations. All submitted proposals will be evaluated by a committee of reviewers composed of representatives from the NYIC’s staff and board.
Proposals will be primarily assessed on the following criteria:
the strength of the applicant's experience supporting Afghans with legal services, health and wellness services/referrals, and advocacy
the strength of the applicant's plans for completing the deliverables of the regrant
whether or not the applicant has the capacity to manage the regrant and complete its deliverables
The following will also be factored into the decision-making process in an effort to manage risk, reward some organizations for their level of activity in the NYIC's work, and spread financial resources as widely across the NYIC’s Membership network as possible.

Applicant's regrant award history (the NYIC is committed to spreading regrants as widely as possible within its Membership over time, as opposed to awarding funds to the same organizations over and over again)

Briefly describe your organization's experience connecting (through direct services and/or referrals) Afghan evacuees and their families to health and wellness services during the past year. Please include the types of services, the scale (# of people connected to the services), and if possible, the overall results of the services to-date (# of people who had measurable improvements in health and wellness). [Bullet points or 1-2 paragraphs]
Provide a simple timeline of how your organization envisions undertaking the work of this regrant between October 1, 2021, and August 31, 2022. [Bullet point list]1) Please break the timeline down by month (October 2021, November 2021); 2) include estimates on the deliverables for each month (May 2022 - 3 new Afghans supported with legal services); and 3) include notable tactics/strategies that would be employed during certain times of the year around the deliverables (e.g., February 2022: hold a lobbying day to advocate for Afghan evacuees). It is fine to include information on work that your organization has already done during the grant period.
