CRITERIA:

This RFP is open to NYIC nonprofit Member organizations. All submitted proposals will be evaluated by a committee of reviewers composed of representatives from the NYIC’s staff and board.

Proposals will be primarily assessed on the following criteria:

  • the strength of the applicant's experience supporting Afghans with legal services, health and wellness services/referrals, and advocacy

  • the strength of the applicant's plans for completing the deliverables of the regrant

  • whether or not the applicant has the capacity to manage the regrant and complete its deliverables

The following will also be factored into the decision-making process in an effort to manage risk, reward some organizations for their level of activity in the NYIC's work, and spread financial resources as widely across the NYIC’s Membership network as possible.

  • Applicant history with managing NYIC regrants/resources

  • Geographic areas served

  • Participation level in the NYIC's work during the past year

  • Applicant's regrant award history (the NYIC is committed to spreading regrants as widely as possible within its Membership over time, as opposed to awarding funds to the same organizations over and over again)
