Why are we asking this? When we run your details through a direct debit authorisation we need to know this information to process your application correctly.

PART 2: YOUR EMPLOYMENT
There are a number of Depots so please choose the starting letter of your employer and then you will be given a list of depots. If you cannot find your depot/unsure there will be an option for Depot Unknown/999 which you can choose.

PART 3: EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY INFORMATION

ASLEF is committed to equality and the diversification of the train driving grade, to help us understand the composition of our membership we ask that you please complete this equality monitoring form.  Any information you provide will be kept confidential and will be anonymised for reporting purposes.
PART 4: POLITICAL FUND AND DATA PROTECTION NOTICE
Political Fund and Personal Data

ASLEF will keep your personal data safe and secure at all times.

ASLEF may share your personal data with others for the purposes of providing the functions of a trade union and providing membership services to you (for example Electoral Reform Services for balloting and elections and our solicitors for legal help).
9 in 10 ASLEF members contribute to the political fund. It represents just 4% of your subscriptions. The political fund isn’t just about sending cash to any particular political party. It’s about campaigning for policies that will improve the lives of ASLEF members, aimed at the people who can change things. Anything ASLEF does which can be considered to have ‘political objects’ must come from this fund. It is a very small amount to help ASLEF continue to have our voice heard.
As a member of ASLEF you may opt to be a contributor to the political fund. The political fund allows ASLEF to affiliate to the Labour Party and lobby and campaign on your behalf in parliament and the devolved administrations. The above subscription rate includes a contribution of 4% per month to the political fund. If you opt not to contribute to the political fund your monthly subscription rate will be reduced by 4%. If you decide not to opt to be a contributor to the political fund you shall not be excluded from any benefits of the union, or placed in any respect either directly or indirectly under any disability or disadvantage as compared with other members of the union (except in relation to the control or management of the political fund).
ASLEF is affiliated to the Trades Union Congress.

In making this application to join ASLEF, I agree to abide by the Rules of the Society.
