Real Estate Project Managers Learning Space
Event Description
Join National CAPACD’s new space for real estate project managers to connect, learn about real estate projects, and discuss current challenges. This is a quarterly peer space for National CAPACD’s network who build and preserve affordable housing, community and commercial space as a part of a comprehensive community development approach that centers a neighborhood’s cultural assets and identity. Staff involved in real estate projects are invited to join National CAPACD’s new peer learning space on Wednesday, March 12, 11 am - 1:30 pm PT / 2 - 3:30 pm ET. Emerging developers are welcome! This is the first of quarterly meetings intended to provide real estate project managers a space to connect with each other, see and share neighborhood real estate development approaches, and discuss and problem-solve current financing and construction challenges. Other 2025 meeting dates are tentatively on May 15th, September 10th, and November 20th. For the first meeting Debbie Chen, Director of Real Estate and Stephanie Park, Senior Project Manager from Little Tokyo Service Center in Los Angeles, CA will share about their Go for Broke Apartments, an infill development located on Little Tokyo’s historic First Street North block. This multi-family, mixed-use transit-oriented development features 248 units, with supportive housing set-asides for homeless veterans, and ground floor commercial and community space for Go For Broke National Education Center. Note: While this is not specifically a training space, those who have an interest in and working knowledge of real estate development are welcome to join.
