Thank you for your interest in Emma's Torch Culinary Training program! The program is a paid, 11-week training opportunity for students to learn culinary skills. Students are then helped to find a job that fits their culinary interests after graduation.

Participants MUST be:

(1) refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, or survivors of human trafficking who have arrived to the United States within the past five years 

(2) ready to have full-time availability for the duration of the program 

(3) legally authorized to work in the United States, because we will pay you $17/hour

(4) willing and able to stand for 8 hours and lift boxes up to 50lbs (22kg) 

(5) able to communicate and follow instructions in English

(6) making less than $10,000 annually and/or facing significant barriers to work

(7) passionate about food! 


The training is held at 2212 Rhode Island Ave NE, Washington, DC 20018. 

This application should take you 10-15 minutes to complete.

Your schedule will change over 11 weeks, but you must be available for all of them. If you miss too many classes, you will not graduate. You will learn more about the schedule during your interview.
