Artists 360, a program of Mid-America Arts Alliance made possible through the support of the Walton Family Foundation, provides grant funding and professional development opportunities to student artists of all disciplines attending a post-secondary institution in the Arkansas counties of Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington. Artists 360 is designed to elevate and energize greater Northwest Arkansas student artists by providing them with: 
  • $1,500 grants to support creative practices and career advancement
  • learning opportunities to develop entrepreneurship skills and build sustainable creative practices
  • connections to a dynamic regional artist network
The application deadline is June 30, 2022.

Applicants will be notified by September 15, 2022.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for Artists 360, you must:

Be enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year (part-time or full-time) in an accredited post-secondary institution located in one of the following counties: Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, or Washington. (Student artists do not have to be arts majors to be eligible for Artists 360.)

Required to be available for an Artists 360 in person retreat on October 14-16, 2022 in Eureka Springs, AR. Recommended to be available for an Artists 360 in person alumni retreat on April 22, 2023 in Bentonville, AR. 

Be 18 years of age at the time of application.

Must be a citizen, permanent resident, or have non-resident status.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Each Artists 360 application should include: 
  • Completed online application form including a description of how you will use the grant funds to enhance your creative practice and/or advance your artistic career
  • Proof of enrollment in your college or university
  • Three artwork samples (images - 1 MB max. per image, audio files, film files, o URLSs to audio and film files)
  • Work Sample Summary (maximum 4 pages)
REVIEW CRITERIA
  • Artistry: Successful applicants will demonstrate artistic excellence, variously defined by the practitioners and norms in their discipline, and show a deep commitment to their work. Selected artists will be advanced in their practice (whether through higher education, apprenticeship, or studies with elders and leaders in their craft).
  • Program Readiness and Collegiality: Selected artists will have the desire to advance their career and deepen their practice, as well as an interest in sharing their work and process as part of a network of artists.
  • Balanced Cohort: Panelists will consider the overall balance of the group of grantees to ensure a broad representation of perspectives, disciplines, and experience levels.

If you do not have an artist statement, or have never written an artist statement, use this opportunity to describe what you make, and how and why you make it. An artist's statement should give reviewers insight into your work and process. 

Provide a short biography to be used in AR 360 publicity materials. Your biography should be in third person. To expand the size of the text box, drag the lines in the lower right corner down so you can see your narrative in full. Insert a line space between paragraphs for ease of reading when applicable.

Application Support Material


Upload proof of enrollment in your community college, college or university. Scans of documents will be accepted in either jpg or PDF formats. You only have to provide one of the acceptable documents listed below: scanned copy of your student identification card demonstrating you will be enrolled in the 2021-22 school year. A transcript or course list showing the courses you are enrolled in during the 2021-2022 school year. A letter from your college student affairs or admission office stating that you are enrolled in the 2021-22 school year (the letter should be on school letterhead and signed by an admissions official.

Proof of residency in one of the following Arkansas Counties (Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, or Washington). A proof of residency document must include your name and your residence address, be dated within 90 days and be computer-generated (typed). Scans of documents will be accepted in either jpg or PDF formats.You only have to provide one of the following acceptable documents: valid Arkansas Drivers' license, bill from a bank, mortgage company, utility company, credit card company, doctor, or hospital, bank statement, property tax bill, current valid homeowner's renters policy or motor vehicle insurance card or policy, current valid Arkansas motor vehicle registration, 2020 tax filing (IRS or state of Arkansas). 

When applicable, include the following for each work sample corresponding to the order the samples are submitted: artist name, title of the work, website address, medium, dimensions, date of completion or performance or publication, running time, number of pages and other details regarding the creative development, inspiration or relevance of the work. Clearly indicate selections intended for review including portion, (i.e., url - "Video Titles" - view from 1:36 to 3:06) (limit four pages, PDF format).
