Thank you for nominating a Northwest Arkansas artist for the Creative Impact Award. All nominations must be completed through the online form below. Nominations may be submitted by anyone who lives or works in the following Arkansas counties: Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington. Individuals may self-nominate. Individuals may also nominate more than one person. A separate nomination form must be completed for each nominee. If you have any questions, please contact Diane Scott at

What is the Creative Impact Award?

One annual unrestricted award of $25,000 will be awarded to an exceptional artist that has made a significant impact in the community and contributed to the region’s arts and culture sector. Ideal candidates for the Creative Impact Award will have an exceptional body of work, a sustained practice, and be recognized as an artist that has helped make Northwest Arkansas a welcoming and supportive environment for artists. This award is designed to strengthen the artist's career and deepen the arts community in Northwest Arkansas. The recipient will be announced by September 15, 2022.

As a part of the award, the selected artist will:

  • Attend the Artists 360 fall convening in Eureka Springs and give a 30-minute talk about their art practice and career (October 14-16, 2022).

  • Organize a minimum of four informal gatherings with Artists 360 alum and current cohort members over the course of a 12-month period. (i.e. a walk through and discussion of a current exhibit at Crystal Bridges, a coffee gathering to discuss project progress, etc.).

  • Attend the Artists 360 spring alumni convening in Bentonville (April 22, 2023)

  • Present a workshare or perform at the Full Circle Artists 360 Spring Showcase at Crystal Bridges (April 23, 2023).

The Nomination Process, Judging Criteria, and Artist Eligibility

In writing your nomination, please provide concrete examples of what the nominee has accomplished that merits receiving this award. Provide sources for the information where possible. Nominees may come from any artistic discipline, including but not limited to dance, film, folk, music, theater, and visual art. This opportunity is designed for artists that can be leaders and provocateurs for the artistic community in Northwest Arkansas. Artists should be considered at least mid-career, make exceptional work and be professionally recognized both within Arkansas and nationally, have noted contributions to Northwest Arkansas’s cultural ecosystem, and live in one of the following Arkansas counties: Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington.

The review panel for the Creative Impact Grant will use the following criteria in selecting the awardee:

  1. Artist must reside in one of the following counties in Northwest Arkansas: Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington.
  2. Artist must be considered mid-career or established.
  3. Artist must make exceptional work and be recognized as a professional in their field both within Arkansas and nationally.
  4. Artist should have noted contributions to Northwest Arkansas’s cultural ecosystem.
  5. Artist should be committed to building and supporting the arts community in Northwest Arkansas.

Each nominated artist will receive written communication from Mid-America Arts Alliance within one week of the nomination period closing date. The nominees will be asked to submit the following and will be given a minimum of three weeks to complete an online application:

  • Artist or Personal Statement
  • 3-5 work samples
  • Artistic CV or Resume
  • A statement telling us why they should be considered for the Creative Impact Award (500 words maximum)
