Foreclosure Prevention: Basics for Conducting Clinic Consultations

View the training online anytime. You will be emailed the training link within 1 business day of registering.

This training covers the basics that attorneys need to know to volunteer at our pro bono foreclosure brief advice clinics. The material includes a brief recap of loss mitigation programs, an overview of the foreclosure process, how to determine where a homeowner is on the foreclosure timeline so they can prioritize their next steps, additional programs available to homeowners as of January 2022, and other resources for attorneys.

Participation is open to lawyers who agree to volunteer at 2 foreclosure brief advice clinics within 1 year of registering, as well as paralegals, law students, and housing counselors. Malpractice insurance and access to a mentor will be available to lawyers volunteering at clinics.
