About
This conference will target the security staff of organizations who have as their primary mandate the conducting, enabling, and funding of research, evidence-gathering, campaigning and advocating for human rights and civil society space. To be deemed a primary mandate, roughly 80% of staff and resources must be entirely focused on this work.
For this pilot event, we will be inviting those who are members of GISF< with a few additional non-GISF friends from our close contacts. For the next event we will aim to open this up much more widely to organizations that are not GISF members, or who do not meet GISF criteria for membership but who do meet the criteria that we've set for this group. We Recognize that by keeping this primarily to GISF members for the first year in an effort to keep the pilot to a manageable list of attendees, that we will be limiting ourselves to primarily larger, global north organizations. We will aim to rectify this in the second year with active outreach to smaller global south organizations, with ample lead time, as well s hosting the event in a location more conducive to the global south participation.
