Code of Conduct Signatory Application

Thank you for applying to become a Signatory of the Australian Carbon Industry Code of Conduct. This form should take approximately 30 minutes to complete, and you will receive a decision on your application from the Code Administrator within 10 business days. 

Please note that providing incorrect or incomplete information may lead to the delay or rejection of an application. Where the Administrator required further information, this may leas to a delay in providing an application outcome. All commercial-in-confidence information will be treated with appropriate confidentiality and and subject to the requirements of relevant laws, in particular the Privacy Act 1988.

APPLICANT DECLARATION

This declaration form must be signed by a suitably authorised representative within the organisation - who may not necessarily be the primary contact specified above.
If you are unable to tick all the boxes below, please provide supporting documents to code.administrator@carbonmarketinginstitute.org. You can also contact the Code Administrator to discuss your application further.

Where an applicant cannot tick all the boxes below, approval of the application remains at the discretion of the Code Administrator. Where an undertaking is found to be falsely provided, the application will be rejected or, if already approved, the signatory may be removed.
I declare, together with all relevant individuals in this organisation, that:
  • I have read and understood the Carbon Industry Code of Conduct (the Code) insofar as it applies to the business if this organisation;
  • I have provided information in this application that is true and accurate. I agree to inform the Code Administrator if the information provided is no longer valid or accurate;


I declare that the applicant organisation (including its personnel):
  • agrees to comply with the Code;
  • is committed to developing and conducting business in line with industry best practice as outlined in the Code and interacting with clients and other stakeholders in a professional and ethical manner;
  • will respect the objective of all documentation used to support the administration of the Code;
  • will take reasonable steps to avoid any actions, omissions or business practices that could damage the reputation of the carbon industry or may adversely impact on the achievement of the objectives or vision of the Code.
  • will disclose to the Code Administrator any information regarding a complaint made against the applicant organisation, in line with the requirements outlined in the Code of Conduct.
  • will undertake all carbon-related activities covered by the Code (and commencing on or after 1 July 2018):
    • in a transparent and accountable manner;

    • ensuring environmental and social integrity of the relevant scheme/s;

    • complying with applicable legislation and regulations; and

    • facilitating community trust in the outcomes of the relevant scheme/s.

  • has not, during the past five years, had any director, manager, partner, or shareholder involved as a director, executive, manager, partner or shareholder of any business that has engaged in any activities which could cause the code to fall into disrepute, such as:
    • Received any formal or informal undertakings, civil or criminal, against it
    • Received any court, judgements against it
    • Suffered insolvent liquidation, whether voluntary or involuntary, or been dissolved, appointed an administrator or receiver; or
    • Been removed from the Code.


I confirm, together with all relevant indiduals in this organisation, that:
  • I understand that the Code Administrator may provide certain information in this application to external parties for legal review and assessment as required. All information will be treated with appropriate confidentiality.
  • I acknowledge and agree that I am not entitled to and will not make any claim against the Code Administrator for delays in processing an application or for rejection of an application.
  • I am confident  that I am authorised to make this application on behalf of the applicant organisation
