Are You Ready to Drive Your Career and the Social Change Sector Forward?

Emerging Leaders (EL) is a competitive professional development program that equips individuals working in the nonprofit and public sectors with the management training, leadership development, and confidence to accelerate their careers and enhance their professional contributions. Princeton AlumniCorps manages the Emerging Leaders program, connecting a diverse cohort of participants with the organization's mature network of social change leaders. Emerging Leaders participants engage with program curriculum through sessions facilitated by a highly trained executive coach.

The program includes two cohorts with unique modalities:
  1. New York City Cohort (hybrid format - contingent on public health guidance) — based in the Greater New York City Area, includes 6 in-person and 2 virtual sessions.
  2. National Cohort (100% virtual format) — offered nationally on Eastern Standard Time (EST) to professionals in cities across the U.S.

Brief Overview:

Emerging Leaders runs for a total of eight full-day sessions that are scheduled between September 2023 to April 2024. Participants must have 3-10 years of total full-time work experience, including at least one year in the nonprofit or public sector. They must also be currently employed in the nonprofit or public sector and have some degree of management responsibilities, including supervising full-time or part-time staff, interns, or volunteers. Program participants should expect to stay employed full-time during the program's duration.

While this program is managed by Princeton AlumniCorps, alumni from any college or university are welcome to apply. Monthly meetings are held virtually for our National Cohort, and in-person/virtually for our New York City Cohort. Applicants are encouraged to apply based on their remote preferences or their ability to attend in-person meetings in New York. Cohorts are facilitated separately, however, both cohorts come together for one to two (1 to 2) select sessions throughout the year to enhance participant learning and network connections.
