Dear
students of public high schools in Lebanon,
The U.S. Embassy in Lebanon and Teach For Lebanon are
excited to announce a great opportunity for students primarily aged 13 - 18
years old to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in a competition to receive
an educational scholarship to learn English. The selected finalists will
participate in the two-year program called the English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) funded by the U.S. Department of State.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Access Program provides an opportunity for students in
Lebanon to learn about U.S. culture and values, deepen their knowledge of the
English language, and take an active part in the development of Lebanon.
Students will receive a total of 360 hours over two years.
The program consists of three components:
1. Afterschool English
language instructions according to the students’ level
2. Enhancement activities
3. Intensive sessions
PROGRAM DATES: (TBD)
FINANCIAL SUPPORT: The Access Program pays for the student’s
Program fees, books, and transportation costs and/or virtual learning costs.
*Students will also be provided with laptops which they
should return to Teach for Lebanon by the end of the Program.
PROGRAM Eligibility Criteria:
Students applying to the Access Program must be:
· Bright students from
underprivileged backgrounds (A statement of family’s annual income should be
provided as a proof of financial status once accepted for the program)
· Public high school students
in Lebanon
· Have an Academic Average
over 10/20 for the Academic years: 2020-2021 and 2021-2022
· Grades 10 Students in the Academic year 2022 - 2023
· Aged 13-18 year old
· Living within the same city
of the Access program center they are applying for.
