Each Duke of Ed Centre must keep current at all times the following insurance policies for the benefit of all Registered Users and Volunteers
- Public and Product Liability insurance, with a minimum cover of $20,000,000 ($20 million) for any one incident or series of incidents arising from one event for public liability and in the aggregate for the year in respect to product liability. The Duke of Ed Centre's Public and Product Liability insurance policy must note the interests of the NAO.
- Personal Accident insurance, covering all Registered Users and Volunteers (paid or unpaid) in relation to The Duke of Ed Programs activities for a minimum aggregate limit of $3,000,000 ($3 million) and Death and Capital Benefits limit of $150,000.
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Australia, can facilitate Personal Accident insurance and Public and Product Liability insurance for Duke of Ed Centres that do not have any insurance or require top-up cover for any gaps in coverage limits, as stipulated in the licence agreement.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia (or 'Duke of Ed') engages the services of insurance broker, Marsh Advantage Insurance Pty Ltd (Marsh). Marsh may be able to assist with your insurance needs, including the policies which the Duke of Ed's Award Centres are required to hold.
