Hot Docs uses the English title in ALL Festival publications, including the program book and schedule. Exceptions will be made for titles with names, proper nouns, or other untranslatable words.

Hot Docs requires all feature and mid-length submissions to be at minimum an Ontario premiere and short films to be at minimum a Toronto Premiere. If your short film is available publicly online, please select Toronto Premiere. Please indicate the premiere status this submission would receive if selected for Hot Docs 2023. Doc Shop

The Doc Shop is a market platform created by Hot Docs to increase your film’s discoverability.

 

If you are seeking international sales, broadcast acquisitions, or festival solicitations, it is a means to make your film available to accredited Hot Docs delegates, including broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, and festival programmers.

 

The Doc Shop is password and DRM-protected, allowing delegates to securely browse, search, and screen films, and to contact the associated rights-holders.

 

All films selected for Hot Docs 2023 will be eligible for inclusion in the Doc Shop free of charge. Films not selected for the 2023 Festival may still be eligible for inclusion, subject to a placement fee. For more information about the Doc Shop, contact docshop@hotdocs.ca.
