BAYCAT's paid internships help train participants to be able to launch their digital media careers and provide hands-on experiences to apply for media roles.

Spring 2026 Focus: Film Essentials

This entry-level, exploratory internship is designed for emerging creatives (18+) who are interested in careers in film and media production. Over the course of this 6-week program, interns will gain foundational skills in creative and technical video production. In addition to hands-on and experiential training, this internship will focus on providing exposure to professional set environments and studio workflows. Additionally, interns will participate in professional development trainings and workshops to help identify the next steps in their creative careers, support job placement exploration and opportunities, and bolster work readiness.

ELIGIBILITY This internship is for emerging creatives who meet the following prerequisites:

• No formal training required – this program is for creatives at the beginning of their media journey.
• Demonstrated experience, interest, or experimentation in creative media practice. Examples of this could be: personal projects, school work, community projects, social media content, etc.
• Collaborative mindset. Participants should be interested in working with others, sharing ideas, and learning in a group setting.
• Foundational computer literacy. Applicants should be comfortable using a computer for tasks such as email, file management, and web-based tools. Experience using Google Suite, Mac OS, and creative media softwares are helpful.
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
