Placement providers who host five-day on-site or hybrid work experience placements must also provide lunch and travel expenses.
The minimum we think that all organisations should provide is a total of £75 in expenses for a 5 day work placement (this is based on £15 per day).
If you want to host a young person for
longer than five days, they must be paid at the real Living Wage for your area
. We also expect the real Living Wage to be paid regardless of the age of the young person. With paid placements, providing expenses on top of the real Living Wage is optional. For help calculating the cost of a placement please input your work placement details.
