Disaster Relief
RMYC Crews may be provided an opportunity to deploy on a disaster relief assignment during your Service Term. This is an optional opportunity that commonly requires members to travel outside of Colorado and aide in various aspects of disaster recovery unrelated to conservation work.  Find more information on the AmeriCorps Website https://americorps.gov/about/what-we-do/disaster-services-unit. If you are interested, more details will be discussed during the interview process.

Essential Job Functions
RMYC work is physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. We largely operate on a 24/7 program model in a communal environment, while completing physically demanding project work in all types of weather conditions. Physical demands of the job can include swinging tools, heavy lifting, working in extreme weather conditions, and hiking with a backpack carrying personal gear/crew gear/tools for extended periods of time (typically 8-10 hours a day).
