YOUTH SPECTRUM ARTS APPLICATION

The New Museum proudly hosts Youth Spectrum Arts (YSA), a stipend-supported, afterschool program for young people ages fifteen to nineteen. Building on the New Museum’s history of critically engaging youth, YSA enables young people to interact with contemporary art and culture, through a focus on gender, sexuality, and queer and trans community. Through workshops, artmaking, and discussion, participating youth connect with themselves, peers, and guest artists. As part of the culminating project for the program, YSA participants will host a Youth Summit in June.

2022-23 PROGRAM DETAILS

Participants will meet every Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. EDT from January 10th  to June 13th 2023, excluding school recesses. Additional sessions on second Saturdays for field trips and organized events will occur outside of the set hours. Dates are to be determined.

This program is free. YSA participants receive a stipend of $750 to ensure broad access to the program.
