Commitment: High Jump requires an strong 2-year commitment with an expectation that students will attend programming in the summer for approximately 5 weeks and about 18 Saturday sessions during the school year. Programming begins the summer after 6th grade is completed (June 2023) and students graduate from the program in May of their 8th grade year. Students are expected to attend all sessions and are only allowed 3 unexcused absences per year. Are you and your child able to make this level of commitment?

Transportation: High Jump does NOT guarantee transportation for students to attend programming. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide transportation for their child to every High Jump session. High Jump may offer a 3rd party transportation option in the future, but High Jump does not guarantee this option and does not manage the 3rd party vendor. Regardless if any transportation is offered, parents/guardians are solely responsibility for transportation to and from programming. Are you able to make this commitment?

High Jump is only accepting applicants who can make the 2-year commitment and can meet the transportation expectations for the program.

Directions:

The following essay questions must be completed by the applicant. Parents or school staff should NOT complete the essays as it will result in disqualification for admission.  

Students should type the essay in a word document to allow students to save and edit their essays. Once it is complete, save the essay as a PDF, JPG, or PNG file and upload it below. If you are typing your essay on a google doc, you can also download and save as a PDF, JPG, or PNG. We Strongly recommend that you spell check and review both essays before you upload them.

  Essay Requirements:
  Each essay should be a minimum of 3-4 well written paragraphs long.
A minimum word count of 250 per essay is required.
We encourage applicants to fully answer the questions and elaborate on your responses.
Students who are missing essays will not be considered for the program.
