In this section, you can personalize your court visit. However, if you prefer to book a virtual court visit do not fill out the section below. If you are interested in a virtual visit please select that option below. Virtual court visits are for college students and law students. The visits are between 60-90 minutes. This will include a virtual tour of the courthouse and a meeting with a judge or another legal professional.

These 2-3 hour visits consist of an hour guided tour of the building, a visit with a federal judge (or other legal professionals) and/or the opportunity to observe live court proceedings or trials.

Activity (A): Guided tour of Moakley Courthouse

Students will explore the workings of the courthouse as well as the themes and ideals of justice and democracy through viewing, analyzing, and discussing key features of the courthouse on a tour, including a “jury and justice” activity in a real courtroom. (45 minutes)

Activity (B): Visit with a judge/legal professional

Students will explore issues of justice in a courtroom and hear about a judge’s career path, role in our justice system, and experiences in the legal profession. (20 minutes)

Please note that visits with judges and jury trials are not guaranteed because Discovering Justice does not control the court schedule. Field trips, court visits, and tours are provided at no cost. We appreicate a donation of $8/per student for K-12 trips and $10/person for college groups and adults.
