"I Have A Dream" Mentor Application

We know there are many options to choose from to offer your time and service to the community. Thank you for choosing “I Have A Dream” Foundation! We believe effective and successful mentor management and supervision is essentially about building relationships. It’s about supporting our volunteers with getting a handle on what they are supposed to be doing, communicating when they are doing well, and coaching them and providing direction when they need it. We appreciate our volunteers and are thankful for their commitment to supporting us with advancing our mission to empower youth to succeed! Although we appreciate the interest shown by each potential volunteer, we cannot guarantee a position for everyone. In this case, your application will be kept active for six months should a mentor opportunity arise that could potentially be a good fit with your experience, skills, and motivation. A Mentor Coordinator will contact you if a position more suitable to your skills becomes available. IHDF is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Volunteers are expected to be able to explain and demonstrate their commitment to these values.
If your application is approved, you will be asked to sign additional forms consenting to a background check, media release, and release of liability, and and any other additional documentation deemed necessary. You will not be an official mentor with IHDF until that additional documentation is complete.
This form will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please answer each question to the best of your ability. The more thoroughly you answer the questions, the more information we have to effectively match you with a mentee.
