The Artist Services team at Mid-America Arts Alliance is seeking panelists to review applications for two grant programs in 2023: Catalyze and Artists 360. By filling out this form you are expressing interest in serving as a panelist for these upcoming grant application cycles, outlined below. If selected, the Artist Services team will contact you with more information and next steps.

Catalyze, a program of Mid-America Arts Alliance, made possible through the support of the Windgate Foundation, provides grant funding and professional development opportunities to individual artists of all disciplines in the Arkansas counties of Cleburne, Conway, Faulkner, Garland, Grant, Hot Spring, Jefferson, Lonoke, Perry, Pope, Prairie, Pulaski, Saline, Van Buren, White, and Yell. The Catalyze program is designed to ignite the careers of twenty-five central Arkansas artists by providing grants of $10,000 to support their creative practices, learning opportunities to develop entrepreneurship skills and build enduring careers, connections to a dynamic regional artist network, and ongoing support. For more information on the Catalyze program visit:  www.maaa.org/catalyze.

Reviews for this program will take place between March 24th, 2023 and April 14th, 2023. Selected panelists for Artists 360 will be notified no later than the week of March 6th, 2023.

Artists 360, a program of Mid-America Arts Arts Alliance, is a program providing grant funding and professional development opportunities to individual artists of all disciplines in the Northwest Arkansas counties of Benton, Carrol, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington.  Artists 360 is made possible through the philanthropic support from Steuart Walton and Tom Walton through the Walton Family Foundation. In 2023, the program will offer six $1,500 Student Grants, fourteen $7,500 Practicing Artist Grants, five $15,000 Community Activator Grants, and one $25,000 Creative Innovator award for a total annual investment in the Northwest Arkansas community of $214,000. For more information on the Artists 360 program visit: www.artists360.art.

Reviews for this program will take place between July 29th, 2023 and August 18th, 2023. Selected panelists for Artists 360 will be notified no later than the week of July 10th, 2023.

Panelist Requirements and Compensation: Mid-America Arts Alliance relies upon artists and arts leaders to serve as panelists for both Catalyze and the Artists 360 program. Panelists are not expected to travel; however, each panelist must be able to commit to an independent review of applications. Panelists must have reliable internet access and a computer capable of browsing and attending online meetings. The time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours during the review period and compensation is between $150-$250, contingent upon the number of applications in a specific discipline pool.

Panelists are also required to attend an anti-bias virtual training and review written anti-bias materials prior to application review. This requires an additional one-hour commitment.  The virtual anti-bias training will be made available via video, for panelists unable to attend the live session. This training must be completed once every three years.  Panelists who have not yet completed this training will receive an additional $50 in compensation.

By completing this form, you are expressing your interest in serving as a panelist for one or both of these application cycles.  Artist Services will contact you to confirm your ability to participate prior to each selection period, contingent upon panelist needs as determined by the number of applications received in specific disciplines.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Artist Services team at: artistservices@maaa.org.
