Program Description
What is the Clinical Lab Assistant Program?


The Clinical Lab Assistant Program is designed to connect participants to the training and supports to build a career at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In this program, CHOP is seeking Clinical Lab Assistant I students to start an 8-week hands on Phlebotomy training program with direct staff members at CHOP. Training will be 5 days per week, 9AM to 5PM, with a salary of $15/hour and no benefits. After completing the training program, students will become Clinical Lab Assistant I, with a starting salary of $17.00/hour with CHOP benefits.


All applications must be submitted by 5PM, on Wednesday,  December 14th, 2022.

Who should apply?

Compassionate, patient-focused individuals with customer service experience that are comfortable working with blood. Commitment to the full training schedule (below) is required:
  • Facilitated group conversations via Zoom, Mon - Fri, 9am-12pm, January 17th - February 3rd.
  • Additional one-on-one and small group virtual meetings several times a week between 1pm -3pm
  • Approximately 2 hours of daily reading and reflection exercises
