MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR PARTICIPATION:
All participants must be registered with JIAS Toronto as clients. If you are not yet a client, please contact our intake department at 416-630-6481 ext. 5441 or email Lea Soibelman at leas@jiastoronto.org.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Reading Club program provides elementary school-aged (grade 1-8) children with an opportunity to continue practicing their English reading and comprehension skills in an online environment with other newcomer children and a facilitator.

One of the key goals of the Reading Club is to enhance students’ English reading skills by the use of engaging reading comprehension exercises. At the end of each session, the facilitator invites the students to play a series of games based on the materials read in that session. Through a free website called Kahoot, students are able to have fun and interact with one another, while honing their English reading comprehension skills.
REGISTRATION:
Please take a few minutes to complete this form if you would like to register for the Winter 2023 term. Please note that if you want to register more than one child, you must complete the registration form for each child.
Reading Club takes place every Thursdays at 6:00PM for one hour through Zoom. Once your child is placed into a group, you will receive an email with the details on how to join the program, along with the materials and resources for your child to use.

If you have any questions, please email programsupport@jiastoronto.org
