Mitzvot

Tefillah
One of the core components of anchoring the Yeshiva is enthusiastic participation in all Tefillot. Please provide a brief description of your current relationship to and experience with davening in a gender-egalitarian environment. (400 words or less)

Learning Background
For certain classes, students are grouped by text level. Please comment on your skill and experience with traditional Jewish text study (e.g. ability to read vocalized or unvocalized Hebrew texts for comprehension; ability to work through a page of Talmud/Tanakh with commentaries, etc.) Please be specific, providing, if possible, examples of texts that you feel fully comfortable with-including any that you have learned before in depth-and the texts in which you are most excited to develop proficiency. Leadership Experience
Yeshivat Hadar is interested in students with demonstrated leadership potential. Leadership skills are essential for the community organizing and programming that lies at the heart of the flourishing of the yeshiva. Yeshiva Ethos
Hadar students and alumni are a diverse group, but the Yeshiva culture has certain defining qualities. These include our commitments to Torah, Mitzvot, Tefillah, and Hesed; acknowledging that all human beings are created equally in God’s image; love for the Jewish people and appreciation for the State of Israel alongside a sense of responsibility around ethics of power; and comporting ourselves and treating others with respect and dignity inside the Beit Midrash and outside of its walls. Hesed
Beit Midrash fellows commit to engaging in 15-20 hours of Hesed in the form of direct service per term throughout their time at Hadar. What might you envision as your Hesed project? Why does this type of service speak to you? (400 words or less)

Presence and Commitment
Anchoring the Hadar beit midrash involves enthusiasm and commitment not only to making Hadar your own religious home but also to make it a home for others. It also requires consistent punctual attendance at all our programming, including daily morning minyan. What excites you about this role?
