The International Trade division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce the 10th Annual Georgia Launching Opportunities By Exporting (GLOBE) Awards, which recognizes Georgia companies for achieving entry into a new international market.
To qualify for a GLOBE Award, Georgia-based companies must have made sales to a new international market within the previous calendar year (January 1- December 31, 2022). A new international market is defined as a company's first sale in a country.
- Consecutive sales to other regions of the same country or entering a new business relationship with a distributor, representative, or customer in the same country do not qualify as a New Market Entry.
- Sales to overseas territories or holdings (excluding U.S. territories and holdings) of a country that was previously submitted as a New Market Entry may be considered as a New Market Entry on a case-by-case basis.
Additionally, three Georgia companies will receive the distinction of Georgia Exporter of the Year based on how well a company's application demonstrates leadership in and commitment to exporting. This distinction is presented across three size categories: (1) large business, for companies with more than 100 employees; (2) mid-sized business, for companies between 20 and 100 employees; and (3) small business, for companies with less than 20 employees.
Deadline for submission is March 31, 2023. Winners will be recognized in May 2023.
