Braindates
As a learning network, we believe that every person has something to teach others.
Therefore, we will be offering Braindates at Focal Point - pre-matched 25-minute meetings to exchange expertise and meet people in an
intimate setting, through one-on-one or small group conversations.

Is there a topic or two you'd like to share?
Topics should be related to different aspects of international development, humanitarian aid, global volunteering, and global Jewish responsibility. These could be either skills that you could share or broader topics that you are knowledgeable about.
Some examples are: fundraising tips, new technologies in agriculture, Jewish education in a global context, strategies for recruiting young Jewish volunteers, partnership in humanitarian settings, using social media effectively, well-being of your staff, etc.

We encourage you to participate, even if you do not consider yourself an "expert" in a particular topic.

If you're not able to provide full descriptions at this time, OLAM will be in touch to get that information at a later time.

OLAM reserves the right to make a final decision about approving and offering your Braindate topics. (We may not offer it in the case that a few people suggest the same topic, or if topics are not relevant to Focal Point).
Accommodation and Travel

ACCOMMODATION

Thanks to the generous support of OLAM's funders, we are able to offer up to 2 nights of accommodation in a double-occupancy room at the Georgetown Marriott hotel for the first 120 partners and individual members who register. (Please note that this is only available to those who live outside of the DC area.)
The subsidized nights are Sunday, May 7 and Monday, May 8.

TRAVEL

Travel to and from Focal Point is the responsibility of each participant.

As we are committed to making Focal Point as financially accessible as possible, OLAM has procured a limited pool of need-based travel subsidies, ranging from $200 - $1200.
Priorities will be given to partner organizations with a budget below $1 million USD, individual members traveling from outside the US East Coast, and/or young Jewish professionals (up to the age of 35) who are engaged in international development. As OLAM divides up these subsidies, we will strive for an equal distribution of partner organization representation.

All travel subsidies will be paid as reimbursements, following Focal Point. If you are in need of a travel subsidy, please complete this additional request form and OLAM will respond to your request within one week.

Available funds are limited and will be approved on a rolling basis, so please register as soon as possible.
Accommodation

Focal Point will take place at Georgetown Marriott hotel.
