Partnership Policies

Registration

Every participant must complete MakerGirl’s official registration process. MakerGirl requires every participant to be in our records at least 48 hours prior to the session so that they have their unique username to access the TinkerCad software. Per our policy, MakerGirl cannot guarantee that an unregistered participant will be able to access the online designing platform. Without proper registration, a participant will not be able to receive their print. The registration deadline will be 7 days before the session date. A copy of the registered participants can be available to our partners upon request.

NEW: Attendance

MakerGirl hopes to register up to 25 participants per session and expects at least 10 girls to show up to the sessions.

Parent Communication

Parents will receive a confirmation email when they have successfully completed registering their child. MakerGirl will send important instructions via email for the parents/guardians of the participants at least 1 day before the session using the contact information that they provided in the registration process. Please communicate with the parents/guardians of the participants and make sure that they understand this policy.

Receiving Your Prints

Prints will be mailed to participants 8-10 weeks after the session is completed. MakerGirl will send the participants tracking information once the prints have been shipped. This timeline is our ideal time frame, but it may be extended if there are complications due to the ongoing supply chain issues. As of spring 2023, we have an enhanced fulfillment process and continue to approve upon the process.

NOTE: All prints are printed and packed by student volunteers, therefore if there are issues with the prints we appreciate your understanding and the parents in your organization's understanding of any differences in printing or shipping. Normally 3D prints may not be printed and reshipped.

Alternatively, the Partner may state that they will be printing/distributing the designs to their participants. In this case, MakerGirl will have all the prints mailed to the Partner for the Partner to distribute everything at your convenience. MakerGirl will send the Partner tracking information once the prints have been shipped. The same timeframe will apply.

Marketing

Prior to sessions, the partner will be responsible for marketing the event to their existing audience in order to register 10-25 participants (required).

MakerGirl will provide:

  • One co-branded landing page for the session hosting the registration form

  • Email copy that can be used to distribute in partner newsletters and announcements

  • Additional promotional opportunities are welcomed at the request of the partner, they can be discussed with MakerGirl’s ChangeMaker volunteers no later than 2-weeks before the session date.

  • When promoting the session, partner should tag MakerGirl:

    • Instagram: @_MakerGirl

    • Twitter: @_MakerGirl

    • Facebook: @MakerGirlOfficial

After the conclusion of each session, the partner is encouraged to share a celebratory social media post and partners are welcome to share their own photos to celebrate the MakerGirl session. Please share your instagram handle with us and any additional social media handles.

All participant parents/guardians sign photo releases upon registration unless otherwise indicated on their registration.

Cancellation

Due to the logistics, we ask for a 2-week notice. We understand that changes need to be made. If a session is canceled after the 2-week mark, you may be subject to a cancellation fee. For all partnered live events, a fee of 20% will be charged due to the planning of the event.

Checklist

Here is what must be provided to MakerGirl by the Partner. These details will be discussed via email/over the phone. We will be happy to accommodate logistics preferred by the Partner.
