Rally: New Yorkers Deserve the Credit! Rally for Cash with Families, Albany Legislators and New York City Council Member Avilés

New Yorkers Deserve the Credit

Join us on February 16th at 12pm at City Hall Park to tell our representatives it's time to get New York's working families the credit they deserve!

Governor Hochul’s proposed budget failed to expand the child tax credit and the earned income tax credit, leaving New York’s struggling families out in the cold during a major affordability crisis. Because the Federal Government didn’t step up, New York families stand to lose $1,000 to $1,600 per child when they get their tax refunds this year. But it's not too late for these families! Rally with us, our allies in Albany and City Council on Thursday, February 16th at 12pm at City Hall Park to demand the Working Families Tax Credit and show Albany that families want the tax credit now. The Working Families Tax Credit Bill, sponsored by Senators Gounardes and Cooney and Assemblymember Hevesi, would close major gaps for New York's hardest working families, including closing the gap for children ages 0-4 who are cruelly excluded and providing families with more help paying for what they need most when they need it most.

Councilmember Alexa Avilés is introducing a resolution in support of this Albany bill, and we want to show up to let Albany know that families need support now!
