New
Yorkers For Children (NYFC) provides direct educational, financial, and emotional support and develops programs to fil gaps in the child welfare system in partnership with foster care agencies, community organizations, and the NYFC Administration for Children's Services.

Cohort Connection Program:
The Program provides students in college or vocational programs who have been in NYC foster care the opportunity to participate in youth-led, group-based meetings facilitated by a NYFC staff member.
Topics discussed in meetings will be decided by youth and will include academic support, financial management, communication, professional development, mental health, and more.
The Program is designed to increase graduation and persistent rates of foster youth in New York City by providing direct support from staff, fostering strong peer-to-peer connections to reduce isolation, and enhancing the skills and confidence of youth.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be in or have aged-out of foster care in New York City
- Not be older than 26
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university or vocational program
- Provide a transcript showing progress towards a 2.0 GPA
- Be a full- or part-time student
