  • Make the Speakers Bureau event free and open to the public (except in the case of school events or events held in correctional facilities) if you are seeking Humanities Washington funding.
  • Allow at least one hour for each presentation, including sufficient time for conversation. 90 minutes is ideal.
  • Generate publicity for the program, and secure an audience for the event (Humanities Washington will provide a toolkit to help promote the event). Any publicity costs are the responsibility of the host organization.
    • We highly recommend inviting your local congressional and legislative representatives to each presentation.
  • Verbally acknowledge Humanities Washington and its sponsorship at the beginning and end of each program.
  • Prominently include Humanities Washington's logo on all public relations materials.
  • Host the program at an ADA accessible location.
  • Promptly notify the Program Manager if there are any changes to the program.
  • Complete a short online evaluation after the presentation and return audience surveys to Humanities Washington within two weeks of the presentation.
  • Confirm all arrangements with each presenter two weeks before the program.
Additionally, Humanities Washington assumes that a host organization will incur expenses of at least $400 per presentation (staff time spent planning the presentation, venue expenses, marketing and promotional expenses, speaker travel, etc.). By checking the box below, I affirm that my organization's costs to present this program are equal or greater than $400.
After you click 'Submit,' it can take up to one minute for your form to be processed. Please do not close or navigate away from this window until you see the confirmation screen. Your application will be not be received if you close this window before reaching the confirmation screen.

You will receive a confirmation email after you submit that includes your application details and more information.

Thank you for applying for a Speakers Bureau event!
