At Patriot PAWS Service Dogs, we have seen how dogs can benefit groups, facilities, and organizations. Facility Dogs have limited public access and primarily serve within the facility where the organization operates. If you are interested in applying for one of our dogs as a Facility Dog, please review the following information:

The dogs that are offered for Facility Dog placement may have some type of medical, behavioral, or temperamental issue inhibiting them from receiving full public access. These issues will be disclosed to you before the placement takes place.
We review all applications received. Dogs are paired with recipients based on the information provided in your application and on an evaluation our trainers will perform. This information will allow us to find the best match.
Patriot PAWS reserves the right to deny an applicant based on information provided to us about a potential recipient.
A placed dog must continue working in the facility for at least 3 years. If the primary handler is no longer with the organization, then the dog will reside with the appointed secondary handler.
Patriot PAWS reserves the right to remove a placed dog at any time.

If you are interested in receiving one of our dogs as a Facility Dog, please complete the application. Once we receive a completed application along with the required documentation, it will be reviewed by a committee for approval or denial. If approved, you will be added to our applicant list. Placement is not first come, first served; we consider each organization and each available dog to make the best possible match. When we identify a suitable match, we will contact you.

General Information

All applicants are required to have a secondary handler who is also willing to attend any required training for Facility Dog placement. A placed dog must continue working in the facility for at least 3 years. If the primary handler is no longer with the organization, then the dog will reside with the appointed secondary handler.
Patriot PAWS will only review completed applications. A complete application is one that includes ALL requested documentation.
Sending in an application does NOT mean you are automatically approved. Once submitted, your application will go before a committee for tentative approval.
You must be willing to facilitate an in-home and facility visit with a Patriot PAWS representative. This may be in person or virtual.
You must provide up to date vaccination history on any current dogs and cats at the primary and secondary handler’s residence.
If approved, you must be available for three to four days of training, as well as annual recertifications with a Patriot PAWS representative.
Patriot PAWS considers ALL applications regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, or religion.

In order to ensure that each Facility Dog Team is successful, it is the policy of Patriot PAWS that if a Facility Dog is to be placed in a home where more than one pet is present, we reserve the right to deny placement.

Because of this policy, we encourage you to also apply with other agencies.

An acknowledgement of Patriot PAWS rights to approve/deny applications and act in the best interest of any Patriot PAWS dog
