Fundraising Commitment and Plan
Samaritans runners are required to commit to raising at least $7,500. Setting an ambitious, yet realistic, fundraising commitment is very important as team members who do not meet their commitment jeopardize Samaritans' chances of receiving entries from the TCS New York City Marathon in the future. We require team members to submit credit card information to meet any shortfall.
What is your personal fundraising commitment?
If selected, you will be responsible for raising this amount and submitting a credit card number to pay any shortfall. Commitment levels will be considered when selecting the team, but please be realistic in what you can commit to raise.
What is your fundraising goal?
This is the amount that you hope to raise. We encourage runners to aim for a goal higher than their financial commitment.
How much do you plan to personally contribute towards your goal?
Have you raised money for a nonprofit in the past? If so, for whom and how much did you raise?
What is your fundraising plan? Who will you ask? How will you ask for contributions - social media, email, in person, letter, phone, other? Will you host any fundraising events? Does your company offer a corporate match? Do you plan to ask businesses for sponsorship? (Businesses that support you at $500 or more will be eligible to receive team sponsorship benefits.) Please be specific - we want to know that you have thought through how you can reach your fundraising goal.
What, if any, challenges do you foresee in reaching your fundraising commitment?
