IMPORTANT INFORMATION about your EMAIL

Your personal email address works better, because

  1. your school email server may block our emails to you

and/or

  1. when you change schools, districts or employment status, we can still stay in touch with you

However, if you must use your school email address, give us an alternate email just in case your school's firewall does not accept emails from CLTA.

Preliminary Information

CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL TO PRESENT

AT THE CLTA 2024 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

PROPOSAL INFORMATION

The CLTA Conference is California's major opportunity for world language teachers to learn new techniques and activities, to meet and share with colleagues across the state, to network, to find out what is going on in California and to see new materials (in the Exhibit Hall) and attend exhibitor sessions, where they demonstrate some of the materials they sell. It's an exciting, motivating, and meaningful experience and you are part of that experience. Thank you again for sharing your expertise and knowledge with your colleagues across the state.

Proposal Information

·   Workshops for the conference will be selected from proposals submitted by September 30, 2023

·   Interest sessions (45 minutes) for the conference will be selected from proposals submitted by October 30, 2023

·   All presenters & co-presenters for the 2024 Conference must be current 2023-2024 CLTA members; Exhibitors & Out-of-State presenters are exempt from the CLTA membership requirement

·   Each presentation can have only one lead presenter (the person submitting the proposal)

·   Only the lead presenter receives a complimentary Saturday/Sunday registration (without meals)

·   All communication is with the lead presenter through the email provided on this form

·   The lead presenter is responsible for passing information on to his/her co-presenters

·   If you need to withdraw your proposal, send an email to program@clta.net

·   Acceptance of your proposal does NOT register you for the conference

·   Presenters & co-presenters MUST register through the regular registrations site

·   CLTA reserves the right to edit abstracts for brevity and/or clarity and to cancel workshops with insufficient enrollment

·   If your proposal is selected, you must respond to the Program Chair at program@clta.net within one week of receiving the acceptance letter.

When writing your proposal consider the following

·   The presentation title should be 150 characters or less

·   The abstract should be 400 characters or less

·   All presentations must be interactive; not just lecture

·   In your description explain the interactive activities. What will the participants do?

Due to COVID endemic, CLTA continues to meet guidance from local & state public officials as COVID and its variants are still a health hazard for the elderly and the immune-compromised. CLTA asks that you consider wearing a mask in crowded indoor public places and respect personal space.

We appreciate your willingness to present at our annual conference
