You’re invited to join us on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 from 1:00pm-3:30pm for CUNY’s first-ever Reentry Simulation. The John Jay College/CUNY Institute for Justice and Opportunity is partnering with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of New York (USAO-EDNY) to host it’s in-person Reentry Simulation to John Jay College/CUNY.

What is a Reentry Simulation? Reentry Simulations provide insight into the many challenges formerly incarcerated individuals encounter while transitioning back into society. Participants will experience obstacles formerly incarcerated individuals face by attempting to navigate the system during the first-month post-release. Through the simulation participants complete various tasks to avoid re-incarceration. The overarching goal of the Reentry Simulation is to recreate a realistic view of what returning citizens encounter post-release.
