We're so excited you'd like to re-enroll as a mentee! If you last participated in the program before 2020, we kindly ask that you fill out the New Mentee Application so that we have your most up to date information. Please visit our Be A Mentee page to learn more!

We're so excited you'd like to re-enroll in Girls Write Now! Typically, our mentees are 14-24 but you are eligible to continue as a mentee until the age of 29.

If you last participated in the program before 2020, we kindly ask that you fill out the New Mentee or New Mentor Application depending on how you'd like to participate so that we have your most up to date information. Please visit our Be A Mentee or Be A Mentor page to learn more. If you have questions, please reach out to mentee@girlswritenow.org.

We're so excited you'd like to re-enroll in Girls Write Now! Because you are 29 or older, you are no longer eligible to be a mentee, but you are eligible to apply as a mentor! As you know, mentoring is a two way street and you will learn so much from your mentee while still enjoying all the benefits of the program and the support of our amazing community.

If you last participated in the program before 2020, we kindly ask that you fill out the New Mentor Application depending on how you'd like to participate so that we have your most up to date information. Please visit our Be A Mentor page to learn more. If you have questions, please reach out to mentor@girlswritenow.org.

Your Pathway: 2023-2024 Program Year

Before you select whether you'd like to reapply or transition to alum, we're excited to announce some of the changes we're making in the upcoming program year:
  • Learning Journeys: Rather than applying to a specific program, such as Writing Works, all mentees and mentors will be part of the Girls Write Now "Collaboratory," and will be able to sign up for short-term, goal-focused learning journeys to complete a specific project.
  • Studios (formerly called Core Groups)Similar to last year, once a month, you’ll meet with a small group of mentees and mentors. What’s changed is that Studios will cover a wide range of genres, mediums, topics, so you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for the Studio(s) that best fits your needs, interest, and/or schedule!
What's the same?
  • Mentee/Mentor Pair Sessions: You will have regular pair sessions with your mentor.
  • Events: We'll have a variety of workshops and events that you can attend every month to fulfill your attendance requirements.
  • Minimum of 3 hours per month: We will still have flexible commitment options, with a minimum requirement of 3 hours per month.
Mentor Application Eligibility for Mentees Ages 25+
If you are over the age of 24, you are eligible to be a mentor! As you know, mentoring is a two way street and you will learn so much from your mentee while still enjoying all the benefits of the program and the support of our amazing community.

Note: If you are reapplying, you cannot apply to be both a mentee and mentor.

Alums are valued members of the Girls Write Now community! As an alum, you'll stay a member of the following Slack channels: general, opportunities, writing, and life resources. You'll also join a special alum channel.
