We are thrilled to share the following Senior Fellow programs for 2023-2024. Please read through each program's description and register below.
I. Breakthrough Results Collaborative
You can’t change the trajectory of your academic results all by yourself. You need a TEAM to dramatically improve learning! Therefore, launched in partnership with ANet, the Breakthrough Results Collaborative program develops Senior Fellow school leaders along with two additional instructional leaders (APs, SBTLs, etc.) to create high functioning teams that set a common vision for instruction, calibrate their coaching to this vision, and develop aligned professional development experiences all in the name of driving results for students. Breakthrough Results Collaborative will feature monthly capacity building sessions (NOT in December or March) as well as 2 hours of coaching each month from an ANet coach to make sure that each team is on track to breakthrough.
II. Black Educator Pipeline
We are excited to continue the Black Educator Pipeline learning arc led by Senior Fellows, Sharif El-Mekki (Cohort 1), CEO of the Center for Black Educator Development, and Raymond Fields (Cohort 4), Executive Director of Urban Teachers-Philadelphia, focused on the support of principals to recruit, select, develop, and retain teachers of color. Research shows that having Black educators increases educational attainment, sense of belonging, and access to more rigorous courses while reducing rates of discipline and suspension. This arc will focus on leadership lever, “Advance Equity,” while supporting skills to “Develop People” and “Drive Results.”
The structure of learning will often happen within a racial affinity group, and we are excited to announce that the faculty team is expanding to support white Senior Fellows to join for the upcoming year. Note: even if you are already in the program this year, please indicate your interest to help the team plan accordingly.
III. Communities of Practice
Being a principal can be lonely, so find yourself a Senior Fellow Community of Practice (CoP) to work with next year! Planned and facilitated by a Senior Fellow, each CoP will offer an intimate and focused space where leaders can share and replicate highly effective practices by observing "the work" in action and then engaging in feedback sessions, consultancy protocols, data analysis, etc. to lift up what's working.
The 2023-24 CoPs will focus on:
Early Literacy - Potential focus areas: curriculum adoption, content planning and internalization, instructional practices, etc.
Leader Development - Potential focus areas: 1:1s, Leadership Team meetings, leader coaching, individual development plans, etc.
Teacher Development - Potential focus areas: intellectual preparation, teacher coaching, grade level/department teams, etc.
