Media Pitching Fundamentals
When pitching your message to media, we recommend pitching stories that are either a) timely (i.e., information related to a specific point in time), or b) new and/or important (i.e., report, information, research, etc.).

A good structure for your media pitch is to start with the lead, followed by the value proposition, a call to action, and then a conclusion.

Media Pitching Structure
Important things to consider while crafting your pitch:
  • Who is your audience? (Who are the primary people you want to reach?)
  • What is the message and why is it important?
  • What are your goals? (What are you trying to achieve with this message? What do you want your audience to do or take away from the message?)
