I understand that MLCA does not have a special education department or staff members who hold special education certifications. Therefore, the school does not admit students with learning disabilities or students whose needs extend beyond the basic classroom differentiation and accommodations.

The school office has aspirin substitutes (ibuprofen/acetaminophen) available to students upon request for headaches, aches/pain. A maximum of 2 caplets per day per student will be allowed.

All Financial Assistance is renewable annually; you MUST apply every year.

Financing Assistance Instructions

1) All Financial Assistance is renewable annually; you MUST apply every year. To be considered for Makua Lani financial assistance for the 2024-2025 school year/ you must apply by April 12th via School and Student Services (SSS) at sssandtadsfa.force.com with ail required financial documents submitted.

2) No MLCA Financial assistance or scholarship recipient will receive a discount greater than 50% from (Viakua Lanl, but outside scholarships are accepted in any amount.

3) Families awarded outside scholarships of 75% or more of tuition will not be eligible for MLCA scholarships or discounts unless additional funds are available after initial

distribution.

4) Multi-child discounts:

Oldest Child: Full Tuition
Younger Child: 10% discount
Youngest Child: 20% discount

5) Financial Assistance and Scholarship recipients must maintain the following or risk loss of the awarded funds:

Pay their monthly portion on time
Must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (Middle and high school students)
Maintain a Citizenship Grade of at least 85 (Middle and high schoof students)

Parent Expectations, Agreement Details, and Statement of Cooperation

The following are the school’s expectations of you as parents:

That you are willing to sacrificially give of your time and/or resources to support Makua Lani Christian Academy.
That you share responsibility with the faculty and your child(ren) in his/her academic achievements.
That you will work cooperatively in establishing and maintaining the school’s disciplinary standards.
That you make regular tuition payments as described in the Tuition and Fees schedule, contacting the school if the payment will be late.
That you are willing to have your child(ren) trained in accordance with the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives.
That you are responsible for the repairs and/or replacements of school or personal property which is damaged beyond normal wear by your child(ren).
I/We hereby give consent to the school to evacuate my child(ren) in case of natural disasters to areas designated by the Civil Defense.
That I will pray earnestly for Makua Lani Christian Academy.
In making my application for my child, it is my desire to have him/her complete the school year.
It is my understanding that the policy of the school is to make no refunds on Comprehensive Fees.
A 30-day paid notice is required for early withdrawal.
I have read the school's mission statement, philosophy, purpose, statement of faith, and goals as stated on the website and will be respectful and honor it.
I will also abide by Matthew 18 in dealing with conflicts within the school setting. If I become dissatisfied with the school in any respect, I will seek to resolve the matter with the person or persons most directly involved rather than to spread criticism or hold a negative attitude in my heart. I will go to the teacher first, Principal second, School Board last.
I give permission for my child to take part in all school activities, including sports and school sponsored trips away from the school premises, and absolve the school from liability to me or my child because of any injury to my child at school or during any school activity.
I understand that my student’s report cards, transcripts and/or diplomas will not be issued until our account is paid in full.

If I, or any member of my immediate family, reach a point of disagreement on an issue of a non-criminal nature with Makua Lani Christian Academy and/or its legal corporate entity, I agree to submit a board of conciliation, the members of which have been mutually selected by myself and officials of the school, rather than taking the dispute to a civil court. I agree to the procedure to be followed, including costs involved, would be that which has been established by the Christian Legal Society.
