Group Profile for Tactical Initiatives

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in sharing information about your group with Thousand Currents.

Thousand Currents’ grantmaking approach is by invitation, which means that we do not accept unsolicited proposals for funding. By providing the information requested in this form, you will create a profile in our system. Your group’s profile will be reviewed by our Global Programs Team, and if we think your group may be a good fit for a Tactical Initiatives grant we will reach out to you via email/phone to request more information as part of our decision making process.

Please note that the call for profiles is open to groups that have not previously received a grant from Thousand Currents. Additionally, please note that due to the anticipated volume of profiles we will receive, we will not be able to respond to, or provide funding to, all groups who submit a profile or who we may pursue for further contact.

Tactical Initiatives grants support groups that are using one or more of the following tactics: strategic litigation, popular education, cultural production (including narrative change), and campaigns to strengthen climate justice, food sovereignty, and economic justice movement work. Tactical Initiatives grants range from $25,000 - $250,000 USD and are one time grants with a grant period of 1-3 years.

For more information on Thousand Currents’ grantmaking approach, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions section on our website.

The information you enter and submit will be transmitted over a secure, encrypted connection. The first section of the form asks for brief contact information and information to determine alignment with Thousand Currents’ criteria for grantmaking. If you complete this first section you consent to Thousand Currents retaining the information you provide about your group, including the group name, contact information, and information about your group’s work. The second section of the form asks for more detailed contact information and information about your group’s work. In the second section of the form you will be asked whether or not you give permission to Thousand Currents to share information about your group with trusted peer funders who may be able to support your work. You do not need to give permission in order to submit the form.

After you complete the form and click “Submit” you will receive an email confirming your submission. If you encounter technical issues and are unable to complete this form, please contact programinquiry@thousandcurrents.org for assistance.

This form will be accessible until Monday 1 April, 2024. Due to the anticipated volume of profiles we will receive, we will not be able to respond to all groups who submit a profile. Click here to download a PDF version of the profile form.
