We are solely a Sport-Based Youth Development (SBYD) funder. We believe that the intentional integration of youth development *during* sports/ physical activity programming is an effective evidence-based approach to reaching the hardest to reach children and youth.

Laureus Sport for Good USA

Our Mission

We improve the lives of youth and unite communities through the power of sport.

Our Commitments

  • We read applications for effort and authenticity, not grammar, style, or skill in grant-writing.
  • We prioritize programs that are reaching the hardest to reach populations, including system-involved children and youth, those disconnected from school or work, LGBTQ+ and/or gender and sexual minority youth, refugee children and youth, and children and youth with physical and mental difference.
  • We prioritize programs that are diverse in staff, board, and volunteers and demonstrate an on-going commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • We only fund SBYD development programs.  To be considered as an SBYD program, primary program objectives must be reached via a clear and direct intersection between sports and/or physical activity and intentional youth outcomes.
