Alfanar fosters the growth of ambitious, driven and self-reliant social enterprises (SE) that provide valued and sustainable opportunities for disadvantaged people in the Arab world to improve their lives with dignity. Alfanar's venture philanthropy investment approach helps social enterprises to scale their impact and achieve financial independence over time.
Under the “Impact Together” project, financed by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA), Alfanar is launching the first Seed cycle as part of the project that intends to support social enterprises (SEs) and promote employment creation in Jordan.
The Seed programme intends to support 20 early and growth stage social enterprises over 4 rounds – up to 5 SEs per round – over a 4-year period with funding and tailored training and management support.
An initial cohort of 10 SEs will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria – described below – and will be selected by a panel to join a cohort of up to 5 SEs that will be supported for a period of 4 months with a JD10k grant, 5 training topics and customised management.support. High potential SEs will then progress to a 2 month long-term business planning phase that could lead to further funding.
