Are you interested in expanding your climate lending?

OFN is applying on your behalf to access the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Programs - $6 Billion Clean Climate Investment Accelerator (CCIA) and $14 Billion National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF). We need your help demonstrating CDFIs and other mission-driven community lenders' interest in the program and our application.

OFN's goal is to provide grant and debt capital for climate lending, and your responses to the following questions will be used to support OFN's GGRF application and strategy.

Complete the following form and submit a letter of interest to support our application and join the pipeline if OFN is awarded funds.

OFN wants to serve our members and other mission-driven community lenders that focus on serving low-income and distressed communities.  This includes emerging CDFIs, value-aligned green banks, non-CDFI affordable housing lenders, and environmental justice groups that are starting lending programs.
We are asking mission-driven community lenders to (1) complete the form to join the climate pipeline and (2) submit a letter by Friday, September 1.  Those who do will be evaluated first for funding if OFN is awarded a CCIA grant.  However, we will continue accepting letters of interest and the pipeline form until September 20.

Minimum: $100,000 Maximum: $1,000,000

Priority Project Categories:

Distributed Energy Generation and Storage: Small-scale power generation and/or storage technologies (typically from 1 kW to 10,000 kW), plus enabling infrastructure that supports carbon pollution-free electricity. Projects include residential rooftop solar, residential rooftop solar-plus-storage, community wind and solar, fuel cells, stand-alone energy storage, distributed generation and storage assets that support microgrids, and distribution system upgrades.

Net-Zero Emissions Buildings: Retrofits of existing buildings, making a substantial contribution to the building being a net-zero emissions building and as part of a plan for that building achieving zero-over-time or construction of a new net-zero emissions building in a low-income and disadvantaged community. Buildings include residential, commercial industrial, community facilities. Projects include energy and water efficiency, geothermal heating and cooling, grid-interactive appliance electrification, whole-home retrofits, retrofits of adaptive reuse projects.

Zero-Emissions Transportation: Zero-emissions transportation modes, plus enabling infrastructure for zero-emissions transportation. Projects include deployment of chargers, prewiring for future charger installation and other infrastructure to support zero-emission: (1) micromobility options (electric bikes and scooters) as well as light-duty vehicles for individuals and families, (2) medium- and heavy-duty vehicles for small businesses and farms, and (3) charging and refueling depots for school buses, trucks and public transportation.

Qualified projects must meet all of the following six criteria:

1.   Reduces or avoids greenhouse gas emissions or assists communities to reduce or avoid such emissions

2.   Reduces or avoids emissions of other air pollutants or assists communities to reduce or avoid such emissions

3.   Delivers other benefits within one of the following:

a. Clean energy and energy efficiency,

b. Clean transportation,

c. Affordable & sustainable housing and

d. Training & workforce development

4.   May not otherwise have been financed

5.   Mobilizes private capital

6.   Supports only commercial technologies (Deployed 3 times for at least five years)

What is the total dollar amount of your community lender's projected climate-related debt capital needs over the next 3 and 6 years, assuming you receive CCIA Capitalization and TA Grants?
