TAMEST 2024 Annual Conference - Protégé Nomination

The TAMEST Protégé Program is designed as a mentorship tool for early-career researchers (within 15 years of their first academic appointment) or early-career industry professionals who will benefit from engagement with our highly accomplished members. TAMEST members may nominate one protégé to join them at the conference.

Your protégé will be invited to attend the 2024 TAMEST Annual Conference at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center in Austin, Texas, at the discounted rate of $75. Registration before November 18, 2023 will receive 25% off the ticket price. The conference begins with an opening reception on Monday, February 5, 2024. TAMEST will also host a poster challenge exclusively for protégés (see additional information below).

For more information, please contact Stephanie Shaw (stephanie.shaw@austin.utexas.edu or 512-471-3823).

The TAMEST Protégé Poster Contest will recognize research that could have significant impact on scientific understanding and society.

Up to forty posters will be invited to participate in the poster session on a first-come, first served basis. Posters will be self-organized into one of four categories: Medicine, Engineering, Science or Technology. Posters will be displayed the afternoon of February 5 and all day February 6.

Four protégé poster challenge participants will be selected to become finalists. Finalists will be invited to an exclusive VIP breakfast session with TAMEST leadership and special guests; networking opportunities with distinguished leaders of the Texas research and business community; and the opportunity to present their poster on the main stage to the TAMEST conference audience (five-minute presentation by finalists on February 7).

TAMEST staff will reach out to registered protégés with information on participating in the poster contest.

Please note: Protégé submissions received after December 13, 2023, are invited to attend the conference; however, their name and photo will not be included in printed conference materials.
