Connecting with a Global Hero as We Build Hope Together
SAA will guide participants on a powerful human rights journey to Los Angeles, California connecting the past to the present so we can better understand how to move forward.
Together, we will explore hidden history and examine the lasting impact of the Holocaust, genocide, racism, antisemitism, and other significant world events. Through this experience, participants will be challenged to think deeply about history, humanity, and the responsibility we share in confronting hate and injustice.
Our group will meet a member of the Firestone family and learn about their ongoing commitment to stopping genocide after Renée Firestone survived Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Participants will also hear from a former racist skinhead and former Director of the White Aryan Resistance, who will share his personal journey away from hate, racism, and antisemitism.
Throughout the program, we will visit historic landmarks, museums, and culturally significant spaces across Los Angeles. These experiences will allow participants to engage with history through the lens of human rights, deepen their understanding of diverse communities, and reflect on how knowledge, empathy, and courageous leadership can help build hope for the future.
