ACEN Vision Questionnaire
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) is entering
into a strategic planning process for 2024-2025. Based on our work across the organization, we
are well positioned to co-create a strategic plan to meet a bold vision and
mission. We are asking for your thoughts
and input ahead of the strategy planning meetings being held in January 2024. This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete
and asks you to share your thoughts and provide input. The questions are open text response. Thank you for your input ahead of the strategic
planning meetings.
One
of the areas we will be working on is the creation of a vision to guide ACEN into
the future through our strategic plan. A
vision statement, unlike a mission statement, is a statement of what a company
or an organization would like to achieve in the future. It is progressive, and future oriented. It presents to our customers who we are and
what we want to achieve.
Here
are descriptions of each:
·
A Mission Statement is a
definition of the company’s business, who it serves, what it does, its
objectives, and its approach to reaching those objectives.
·
A Vision Statement is a
description of the desired future state of the company. An effective vision
inspires the team, showing them how success will look and feel.
Examples
of mission and vision statements include:
·
Company: Amazon
o
Mission: We strive to offer
our customers the lowest possible prices, the best available selection, and the
utmost convenience.
o
Vision: To be Earth’s most
customer-centric company, where customers can find and discover anything they
might want to buy online.
o
Why it works: Amazon’s
mission is cut-and-dry about what they offer to customers. The vision takes the
offerings farther, saying their company will offer “anything” customers want.
·
Company: Southwest Airlines
o
Mission: The mission of
Southwest Airlines is a dedication to the highest quality of customer service
delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and company
spirit.
o
Vision: To be the world’s
most loved, most efficient, and most profitable airline.
o
Why it works: Southwest
Airlines tells us right up front that quality customer service is their
mission. Their vision is highly aspirational across the board in saying they
want to be “the most” of everything.
Please
take a few minutes to reflect on these five questions and share your
responses. All responses will remain
confidential, e.g. no names will be collected, but we do want to ask a few
demographic survey items to help us better understand our participants.
Please
complete by November 27, 2023.
