CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS - 57th Annual Conference

June 24 - June 26

Founded in 1967 as the Beautify Texas Council, Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) is the oldest statewide environmental organization that brings together government, business, and grassroots representatives to achieve our mission of inspiring and empowering Texans to keep their communities clean and beautiful. Through our extensive partnerships and network of nearly 300 community affiliates, we have the ability to reach more than 18 million Texans. This is what makes KTB the leading environmental community improvement organization in the state.

The purpose of the Annual Conference is to provide high-quality education and networking opportunities for our affiliate communities. This three day, multi-track format offers attendees a variety of education sessions and interactive forums. Presentations are designed for all levels of experience and we look for a wide variety of topics.

The Evaluation Process
All proposed presentations will be evaluated for consideration based on the following criteria: educational in nature, relevant to the KTB mission and conference theme, overall quality of the proposal, and speaker qualifications. Final selections will be made in April, with all notifications going out at that time. You will be notified only if your presentation is selected.

Presentation Guidelines
Pre-Conference Workshops are a total of 3-4 hours in length and will take place on Monday, June 24, 2023. These content-rich and in-depth workshops focus on specific topic areas, such as nonprofit management.

Breakout Presentations are a total of 75 minutes and should include time for Q&A. We look for a wide variety of breakout topics that align with our mission. Presentations may include interactive teaching and workshop-style elements if this complements your overall content.

Conference Logistics

Our 2024 conference will take place online from June 24-26. Speaking date preference will be considered when coordinating the conference's final schedule. Speakers should have access to high quality internet and need a zoom account to access the conference.

Conference Goals
Our goals for the conference are simple but bold: To raise awareness in our focus areas of litter prevention, beautification, and waste reduction; to promote greater participation in community improvement and environmentally responsible behavior; and to recognize and honor more than 500 grassroots volunteers, community leaders, and businesses who work hard to keep Texas beautiful. This conference serves to provide our attendees with tools and best practices to utilize in their communities. We are proud to be a leader in the movement to promote environmental awareness and activism that will benefit our community, state, and nation and further economic development in communities all across Texas.

Benefits of speaking at the conference
The KTB Annual Conference offers its speakers opportunities for exposure and recognition. The biggest benefit in presenting at our conference is to share your experiences, and to interact with community leaders and volunteers. In appreciation of your contributions as a Conference Speaker, we provide the following benefits:

  • Exposure - Your name and course description are featured in our course catalog, our primary promotional brochure, and on our website. We will also be conducting an aggressive PR campaign, designed to increase interest in the conference and your presentation. In addition, your name, biography, and course description will be available online, along with your presentation if available.
  • Target Market - If you are dedicated to environmental stewardship, this is the opportunity to show it! KTB offers the premier programming in the state for litter prevention, beautification and waste reduction.
  • Promotional Tie-In - Drive community leaders, volunteers, and other individuals to learn more about your company/organization/book/cause, etc.
  • Community Relations - Enhances your visibility within the surrounding communities. Our organization includes nearly 300 affiliate communities, representing more than 18 million Texans.

Individuals may submit more than one proposal for consideration. Complete one form for each presentation proposal. All submissions must be received by Friday, March 1, 2024. Please note, speakers are not paid for their sessions, however, they will receive a free conference registration for the day they speak.
