2024 Crestmoor Neighborhood
 Memorial Scholarship Background

This Scholarship Program is an initiative of the San Bruno Community Foundation, which is the nonprofit created by the City of San Bruno to administer the $70 million in restitution funds received from PG&E after the devastating 2010 gas pipeline explosion in San Bruno's Crestmoor neighborhood.  For more details about the Scholarship Program, click here.

The Scholarship Program’s goal is to help outstanding San Bruno students, who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the San Bruno community, obtain a college degree.  Scholarship Recipients must demonstrate, as the top criteria, deep engagement and involvement in the San Bruno community.  Other factors that will be considered during the selection process include, in no particular order, an applicant’s financial need, extracurricular activities, academic record, and examples of leadership, teamwork, and collaboration.  The Foundation may also consider whether an applicant has overcome significant challenges or obstacles and how those circumstances may have affected the applicant’s school activities, other community involvement, or achievement in school.

To begin the application process, please proceed to the next page and complete a brief registration form. You must register to obtain the necessary links to provide to your recommender(s) and (for high school applicants only) your counselor.

Upon submitting this form, you will receive an email that provides further instructions for completing the Crestmoor Scholarship application. If you have any questions, contact the San Bruno Community Foundation at scholarships@sbcf.org.

Thank you for beginning the application process for the Crestmoor Scholarship.
