2024 Youth Justice Leadership Institute Nominator Form

All applications for the 2024 Youth Justice Leadership Institute must include two completed nomination forms. Nomination forms must be submitted through this portal no later than 11:59 PM Eastern time, April 29, 2024, or the applicant cannot be considered.

1. What is your present position (title, organization)? Briefly describe how your work impacts youth.

2. How long and in what context have you known the applicant?

3. Provide at least two examples of the applicant’s work in the area of social justice, youth, and/or advocacy/organizing. Provide details of the issues addressed and the applicant’s work on those issues. Also, if relevant, explain in what capacity you worked with the applicant (e.g., supervisor, colleague, mentor, etc.).

4. What do you consider to be the applicant’s strongest skills and most promising assets as the applicant takes on leadership of youth justice advocacy?

5. In what areas do you feel that the applicant is in most need of additional knowledge or skills?

6. Discuss the applicant’s ability to manage the demands of a rigorous year-long program in addition to their other obligations.

7. Why do you believe that the applicant is committed to long-term work toward transformation of the juvenile justice system?
