About us

Young Women's Trust champions young women aged 18 to 30 on low or no pay.

We're here to create a more equal world of work and raise young women's incomes. We offer coaching and support to build young women's knowledge, networks and self-belief. We carry out research into what young women's lives are really like and use this evidence to campaign for equality. Young women earn less than young men right from the start of working life - and the gap only grows as they get older. That's just not fair. 

The Research Project

Without volunteers, progress in our research would be impossible.

In previous research, nearly half (49%) of young women told us that they are worried about not having enough opportunities to progress at work. Only 53% said that they have the support they need to progress, compared to 62% of young men.

Through this project, we want to understand more about young women's journeys through work, their hopes and aspirations and the things that have helped and hindered their progression.

We will use the findings from this research to work together with employers and young women to develop solutions to the barriers young women face and how they can advocate for themselves.

How to take part

If you are a young woman or person of minoritised gender aged 18-30 living in England or Wales with experience of being in work, we want to hear from you.

There are many different ways you can choose to take part in the research. 

• Take part in an online interview (over Zoom) with one of our peer researchers.
• Join an online (text based) discussion group, facilitated by our peer researchers and Young Women's Trust staff.
• Share your story in a voice note via WhatsApp or email.
• Get creative - upload a drawing, photo(s), video or poem that represents your experiences.

Please note: You can only choose ONE of the ways to take part listed above.Any personal information you include on this form will be stored securely and only staff at Young Women's Trust will have access to the data. Your information will not be used for any other purpose.
