2024 JABC Junior Entrepreneur Award - $2,500

Award Description

The Junior Entrepreneur Award recognizes youth who have demonstrated outstanding business acumen, growth, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit while participating in JA Company Program or JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners.


Three youth who held executive positions in their student company will be awarded $2,500 each to support their diverse educational or other needs. Participants must be nominated by their JA Company Program mentor(s) or host teacher(s). Award recipients will participate in a live interview about their experience at the annual BLBC Hall of Fame Gala Dinner & Induction Ceremonies to be held on June 3, 2024. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, the nominee must:
  • Have participated in JA Company Program or JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners during the 2023-24 school year.
  • Have held an executive position during the program.
  • Reside in B.C.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be under the age of 29.
Requirements

Nomination form is to be completed by the participant's mentor(s) or host teacher(s). 

If shortlisted, nominees will be expected to: 
  • Provide a video (one-minute max.) on the skills or knowledge they gained from the JA Company Program or JA Company Program for Indigenous Learners and how this experience has influenced their future goals.
If selected, award recipients will be expected to commit to the following activities:
  • Participate in a live interview about their experience at the annual BLBC Hall of Fame Gala Dinner & Induction Ceremonies to be held on June 3, 2024.
  • Provide a headshot and brief biography (100 words max.) outlining your educational background and involvement with JA.
